Fexofenadine

Brand and Other Names: ALLEGRA ALLERGY
Mechanism of Action:

Fexofenadine is a non-sedating antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral H1 receptors, reducing allergic symptoms.

Indications:

Used to temporarily relieve symptoms of hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, and itchy nose or throat.

Route: oral
Dose:

Adults and children 12 years and older should take one 180 mg tablet once daily with water; do not exceed 1 tablet in 24 hours.

Adverse Reactions:

Possible allergic reactions; drowsiness is generally minimal due to non-sedating properties, but sensitivity may vary.

Contraindication:

Known hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any components of the formulation

Warnings and Precautions:

Do not take with aluminum or magnesium antacids or fruit juices. Consult a doctor if you have kidney disease or are over 65. Avoid if previously allergic to this drug or ingredients.
